CALEXICO — It’s not every day that Calexico High School junior Bryan Jerez starts his mornings off with dozens of push-ups, side straddle hops, steam engines, leg lifts and flutter kicks.
But that is pretty much how he and about 45 of his classmates spent an hour and a half of their early mornings this week during a mock U.S. Border Patrol academy at Calexico High.
