The Calexico High softball team clinched its first Imperial Valley League title in school history and advanced to the CIF-San Diego Section Division I playoffs for the first time as well.

In the league-clinching game against Palo Verde Valley on Friday in Blythe, sophomore second baseman Dani Jimenez helped her Bulldogs by going 4-of-8 with two RBIs, two runs and a home run in 14 innings. The Bulldogs won, 7-6.
